iPhone Viper SmartStart Top Gear Philippines AUTO NEWS
Car alarm manufacturer Viper has practically made remote controlled vehicle security obsolete by coming up with an application that lets one remote start or lock and unlock a car with an iPhone.

The Viper SmartStart makes this possible with just a tap on an iPhone's touchscreen and a 3G cellular network signal or a Wi-Fi connectivity. Got more than one car? There's no need to get another iPhone as one unit can help you control different vehicles.

Viper's SmartStart system comes in two packages starting at $299 (roughly P14,000). Users will also have to pay an additional $30 (roughly P1,500) subscription fee to their service provider to make the application work.

The application is currently available only in the United States. As of this posting, Globe Telecom, the official distributor of iPhones in the Philippines, has yet to announce plans of offering the application in the local market.
