Most of the vehicles that tackle the Nurburgring's Nordschleife circuit are high-performance cars and motorcycles. Recently, however, race driver and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust took a different kind of high-performance vehicle to the celebrated track: a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.
Having assisted Ford with some vehicle development work at the American carmaker's Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium, Foust apparently had some free time in his European trip. With the Nurburgring's Nordschleife circuit a quick 200km drive southeast of the proving ground--and with an F-150 SVT Raptor just sitting around--Foust brought the off-road vehicle to see how it would fare on the legendary track "because nobody has done it before."
Unfortunately, no lap times were posted after Foust's run around the track. Foust did believe that the Raptor may have been the most popular vehicle at the Nurburgring that day because "it was jumping sideways and bouncing over curbs and everything."
