Toyota Motor Philippines continued to lord over the local automotive industry with sales reaching new heights in the past ten months.
The Japanese carmaker said it sold 45,316 units from January to October, which represents 38 percent of all the vehicles sold in the Philippines.
Toyota's most recent success stemmed from another strong month for the carmaker as it sold 5,895 units in October.
"In the passenger-car segment, Toyota remains on top garnering 51.5 percent of the market with 1,957 units," Toyota said in a statement. "In addition to this, Toyota continues to widen its lead in the commercial-vehicle category, registering its highest-ever commercial vehicle sales of 3,938 units sold in a single month and taking a 40.6 percent share of the market."
Toyota said the Vios continued to be the best-selling car in the Philippines, which in turn makes it the top-selling car in the Japanese carmaker's current lineup. In October alone, 1,466 units of the Vios rolled out of Toyota showrooms.
The Innova, meanwhile, led sales among light commercial vehicles with 1,317 units sold in October.
"We at Toyota express our sincerest gratitude to all our customers," Toyota Motor Philippines president Michinobu Sugata said. "This would not be possible without their continued support. We shall continue to dedicate our efforts to further improving our products and services for our patrons."
With its strong performance in the last 10 months, Toyota is poised to secure its 10th consecutive triple crown for topping passenger-car, commercial-vehicle and overall sales.
