Toyota Motor Philippines has announced that it sold a total of 5,893 units in June, the highest-ever tally the company has posted for the month of June since starting operations in 1989. This comes a month after TMP achieved record monthly sales in May with 5,977 units.
With another strong month, TMP reported that its year-to-date total for the year is now at 29,400 units, representing an 18-percent growth from the first six months of 2011. This was thanks in large part to the Vios, which sold a record 1,585 units in June, helping Toyota move a total of 1,977 passenger-car units.
"We are very pleased with our performance in the past months, and it is great to end the first semester with record-breaking sales milestones," said TMP president Michinobu Sugata. "This success is a true testament to our customers' trust and loyalty to the Toyota brand."
To sustain its first-half momentum, TMP is currently holding a sales promo called Toyota Fest, which runs at the Japanese carmaker's nationwide dealerships until July 16.
