We are likely never to see a Bugatti Veyron in our lifetime, much less witness it cruising on the road. Thanks to YouTube, then, because we can at least see on video just what it's like to be in "the most powerful roadster of all time" in the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.
For the first two minutes, we're treated to the exquisite craftsmanship that went into the car, followed by the Grand Sport Vitesse driving through a mountain pass with its panoramic roof up. While it looks like a regular Veyron with the top up, at the two-minute mark, we finally get to see it minus its roof.
The sad thing about the video, though, is that we're not treated to the soundtrack of the car's 8.0-liter W16, quad-turbocharged engine. Instead, we're treated to a symphonic score. Such a shame, really.
The Grand Sport Vitesse made its debut last month at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show where the French-by-origin carmaker revealed that its latest Veyron variant boasts of even more impressive numbers than the land speed record-holding Veyron Super Sport.
See if you can wrap your head around these figures:
* 1,500Nm of torque
* A zero-to-100kph time of 2.6 seconds
* A top speed of 410kph
