With that, Changan is looking to stand out with its Nevo Q05 PHEV in a way that will make you pleasantly surprised at the checkout counter. Starting at P1,259,000, the compact crossover packs some serious fuel economy with safety tech that dare to compare in its segment.

Starting with the looks. The Nevo Q05 boasts a modern minimalist design with sleek body lines and chrome accents. It gets slim LED headlights, smoke-finished LED taillights, and a rear spoiler split by a third brake light, and it comes with either 18-inch or 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
The Nevo Q05 is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor and an 18.4kWh battery. Together, the system delivers 212hp and 330Nm of torque to the front wheels. and has a combined range of 1,215km. With a full battery, the crossover has an EV range of 125km and can be charged using a Type 2 (AC) power connector.

Changan calls the powertrain on the Nevo Q05 a range-extended plug-in hybrid. This means it allows the user to select from three driving modes: Battery Electric, Hybrid, and Range Extended Electric. Additionally, there’s also an Intelligent Energy Management (iEM) mode that lets the vehicle adjust its energy consumption based on driving patterns and conditions.
Inside, the Nevo Q05 has a premium interior with power-adjustable leather seats and soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. The dashboard comes with either a 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other niceties include a six-speaker Pioneer sound system, a wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, and multi-color ambient lighting. It also gets a power tailgate for ease of access to the cargo area.

Safety is a big priority for Changan, and that’s apparent in the Nevo Q05. The SUV has a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including integrated adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-change assist, forward collision warning, traffic-jam assist, autonomous emergency braking, intelligent high beam, a surround-view camera system, and automatic parking assist that allows the driver to maneuver the SUV in and out of tight parking spaces using just the key fob.
The Nevo Q05 has two variants: the SE and the iD. The main difference between the two is the full suite of ADAS, and although the lower-spec SE misses out on some add-ons, it still has a 360-degree camera, cruise control, and automatic parking assist as standard. The higher iD trim adds a memory-system driver seat, soundproof glass, curtain airbags, and additional fog lights.
