Sorry for the lack of updates! Despite this, things have been moving along nicely over at Alfred Motorworks in Kamuning.
After a couple of weeks I no longer feel too much anxiety about the wagon being left at the shop. I suppose it just took me a while to realize that there are still some very decent people out there--Alfred being one of them.
You know, it is a great feeling to walk into the shop and see actual work being done on your car. I won't ever take that for granted.
And look at that smile!
At this point most of the bodywork and repair is done. All that is left is closing the paint and a few adjustments here and there. Finally, the wagon looks like a complete car again!
This is being sanded down and being readied for paint. Remember how the hood got bent and there were huge dents on the wiper cowl after the hood disaster? See, everything can be fixed.
We covered the hood up nicely to prevent any overspray.
Here's some work that I appreciate. The side panel started from this...
These panels might seem insignificant, but for me it is a big deal as these were covered in ugly undercoating. Now they match the body color. This being a wagon, I intend to chill out at the back a lot. It has to be cozy and clean back there, just as it was when the car was new.
I must admit that I was even shy to get into details, but Alfred reassured me that I should point out everything that needed work lest I lose sleep at night. It is really cool that he wanted his customers to be satisfied.
See the Halotron fire extinguisher? It is a gift from the coolest girlfriend, ever. I decided to mount the fire extinguisher there so that it is easily accessible to both the driver and front passenger. I hope that I never have to use it.
All that remains now is the carpet and ceiling. And of course, the crucial first road trip! But before then, I have to show you how the wagon looks after leaving the shop. Again thanks for reading and I shall keep you all posted!
