The chair of the Build, Build, Build committee under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Anna Mae Lamentillo, has released her new book that provides a detailed look at the infrastructure projects from the past five years.
The book entitled Night Owl: A Nationbuilder’s Manual, is a “progress report on the ongoing Build, Build, Build program of the Duterte administration.” It contains discussions on roads and bridges that “will inform policy debates today and in the future.” The 342-page book also shares the costs of certain projects, as well as other information such as how said projects were funded.
It depicts where our taxes went in the form of 29,264 kilometers of roads, 5,950 bridges, 11,340 flood mitigation structures, 222 evacuation centers, 150,149 classrooms, 214 airport projects, and 451 seaport projects. At least it doesn’t show us superficial Christmas lights. Night Owl is now available at Central Bookstore, Fully Booked, and National Bookstore branches and is priced at P1,200.
