Whether you like it or not, Chinese cars are everywhere these days. We’re not just talking on the roads either. If you happen to have a copy of Forza Horizon 5 and purchase the latest DLC (downloadable content), you’ll get what we mean.
Forza Horizon 5’s latest DLC is called Chinese Lucky Stars Car Pack. As the name suggests, it has several Chinese cars on offer and was launched just in time for the Lunar New Year.

There are four cars included in the pack, but one caught our attention. For the first time in any racing game (probably), one can drive the humble Wuling Mini EV in the virtual world. We’re just as amused as you are.
In-game stats, you ask? As it’s based on the real deal, the virtual Mini EV packs a single electric motor that musters 27hp and 85Nm of torque. Obviously, this EV is no Tesla chaser, but it was meant to be a city runabout, not a race car.
Of course, that didn’t stop the game’s developers from adding it to the series. Thankfully, the world of Forza Horizon 5 will let you mod the wheels off this little EV. One can swap its 27hp motor with one that packs 235hp or, wait for it, 670hp. All-wheel drive can also be added, along with a body kit.

Another car that’s of interest is the Volkswagen Santana. No, not like the one sitting in local showrooms, it’s the version based on the second-generation Passat that was sold from 1983 to 2013. It may not seem like it, but it’s one of the cars that paved the way for mobility in China.

For those looking for something spicier, there’s the Link & Co 05+ coupe crossover. Its 2.0-liter turbo produces 261hp and 380Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels.

As for the fastest car in the pack, that would be the MG Cyberster. The in-game version is equipped with dual motors, producing a combined output of 536hp and 899Nm of torque. Back in real life, MG Philippines will be rolling out the model during the first half of 2024, likely with more conservative specs.
So if you like your virtual race cars weird, wacky, or eccentric, the latest Forza Horizon 5 DLC might just be for you. If you want those cars in your game, stat, that’ll be $4.99, or around P280 at current conversion rates.
