Surprisingly, this year’s Super Bowl did not air many car commercials. The annual Super Bowl is perhaps the most ‘American’ event of the year, and typically American-made cars dominate the advertising airtime. However this year, we only saw a couple of automotive promotions.
In between various potato chip and food delivery ads, Hollywood legend Harrison Ford solemnly stole the show as he got into an electrified Jeep Wrangler.

You can check out the full commercial linked below. While the whole ad runs in a deeply earnest tone, there is a tongue-in-cheek inkling about Harrison ‘Ford’ driving around in a Jeep.
While Ford works the reigns of a Jeep Wrangler 4xe PHEV, other Wrangler models are showcased running over dirt trails and snowy roads. Throughout the spot, Ford (er, Harrison? Mr. Ford?) shares some patriotic wisdom about living a life well lived. It’s hard to believe Indiana Jones is already 82 years old, but he seems to be reveling in his age as he shares some grandfather-esque knowledge.

The man behind Han Solo also warned Super Bowl viewers about the dangers of being driven by pride. With the American flag waving in the background, you’d think President James Marshall just got off Air Force One.
Sadly, Ford didn’t tell us to ‘get off his car,’ but rather leans in the funny undertones of the ad, and drives off into the American wilderness.
