There are two hypercars we’d like to see go head-to-head: the Koenigsegg Jesko and the Bugatti Chiron. Watching two super-fast hypercars go flat out through a quarter-mile would be glorious, we reckon.
Unfortunately, Koenigsegg isn’t quite done with the Jesko yet. In fact, Bugatti already beat the Swedes to the punch with the Chiron’s record-setting run back in September 2019. We know we’ll have to wait a while more before we see the Jesko in its final form, especially with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic halting manufacturer operations the world over.
But if you share our sentiments and are also waiting for that dream race to turn into reality, we have something here that you can enjoy for the meantime: an all-out street race between the said hypercars. In video game form, of course.
Here, you’ll see two hypercars in action on The Crew 2, an online open-world racing game made by Ivory Tower and published by Ubisoft. It’s available on PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. We’ve no idea what kind of rig this guy uses or which platform he plays it on, but regardless, we’re sure a chase like this is all sorts of fun.
The race happens along some highway in California, and it starts with the Jesko tailing the Chiron. In a nutshell, the entire run was nothing short of exhilarating. The Jesko hit 285mph (459kph) at some point during the chase—considering these are public roads, that’s one hell of a feat. Eventually, in spite of a few crashes and whatnot, the Koenigsegg manages to overtake the Bugatti before the slow traffic gets the better of them both.
Now, unlike other professional sports, we won’t tell you to not try this at home. Actually, that’s the one and only place you should try this in—with your console or PC, that is. Anyway, you can watch the full clip below. We promise you: it won’t disappoint. Enjoy.
