Cars have had odd things built into them over the past century. We’ve seen bolt-on showers, ice makers, and even fax machines fitted inside. Those things make wine chillers in ultra-luxury cars seem pedestrian in comparison.
But here comes Lexus upping the ante when it comes to ‘things you’d least expect to be fitted in a vehicle.’

In case you missed the headline, the Japanese automaker has managed to shove an entire pizza oven at the back of its all-new GX. Obviously, you won’t find that in the options list no matter how hard you tried. Instead, this one-off is catered for those who like their circular Italian dishes on the go and served piping hot.
This Lexus GX is a result of the brand’s collaboration with Monogram. Monogram specializes in high-end kitchen appliances, so it’s the kind of brand that Lexus owners likely have at home. In the words of the automaker, “The Monogram GX puts an entirely new spin on the road trip experience with a crafted, culinary journey.”
There are several key differences between the GX Monogram and the standard models. For starters, it rides on bespoke alloy wheels but it’s still shod in all-terrain tires. It also gets gold trims on the door handles, grille, and roof rack. We honestly would mind seeing those bits on the production model. Oh, there’s also the ‘barn-door’ tailgate to make access to the oven a lot easier. That's something we'd like to see in the Prado counterpart.
That said, the oven isn't just for pizzas. You can pretty much make non-pizza dishes that can be prepped in an oven (steaks, chicken, other breads, etc.). In case you're curious, the oven used is a Monogram 30” Smart Flush Hearth that ‘ capture(s) the performance of a wood-fired brick oven.’
Obviously, you lose the third row seats for the oven, but that’s not all that’s been added in there. The cabin features two-toned camel leather with a custom pattern. Brass and titanium are the order of the day, and you can forget about wood trim in this one. This special GX gets, wait for it, Dekton slate stone accents. It also ditches the second-row seat for a pair of captains chairs with a built-in table, of course.
Other upgrades? There are chilling compartments at the back, along with a plating station. It also comes with shelves on one of the rear swing-out doors for your condiments and other ingredients. A wine and spirits bar is also there, plus there’s an exterior wine and bourbon storage box that’s accessed via the rear window.
