When you think of AWD crossovers, chances are the SsangYong Korando isn't one of them. That's a shame, really, because the Korean-made vehicle has a lot going for it. It has a diesel variant, its AWD drive system is perfectly capable, it offers smooth performance, and while it's not exactly one of the prettiest models in its segment, its design has a certain charm and quirkiness to it.

Inside, the plastics are hard and the trim leaves a little more to be desired, but everything—every dial, switch and button—is in its proper place. At the very least, this isn’t the awkward, clunky SsangYongs of yesteryear.

With the Korando, SsangYong's placed its attention in all the right places. It's efficient, practical, and a vehicle worthy of consideration at its price point. Want to see more of this humble crossover? Just press play on the video above.
