Off-road enthusiasts certainly had lots of reasons to be excited at the recently concluded 2018 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). At the biennial event, Suzuki Philippines pulled the covers off the all-new Jimny.
Many were excited, yes, but many were taken aback by one thing: the Jimny’s tentative price. Dealers at the event told us that the new SUV will cost around P1.1 million. That’s a big leap from the old version’s sub-P1-million price tag. The question is, what does this all-new version have to offer?
When the model was first launched earlier this year, many were quick to dub it the ‘baby G-Class,’ and you can kind of tell that Suzuki has taken some design cues from the famed Merc. Up close, it looks noticeably bigger than the previous iteration. Thankfully, the trademark short wheelbase and beefy tires remain. Those should ensure hours of off-roading fun for weekend warriors.
Inside, the interior bits have been upgraded with nicer materials and a more modern design. For a closer look at the new Jimny, press play on the video above.
