The all-new Suzuki Vitara is one stylish crossover

Smaller than its predecessor
by Jason Tulio | Dec 13, 2017

A while back, before it was even launched in the country, we were fortunate enough to be able to drive the all-new Suzuki Vitara. Well, at least some of us were. The rest of the team was off in Japan covering the Tokyo Motor Show. When we first looked at the Vitara, we thought it looked like one of the many concept cars our teammates were showing us from the show floor. Upon closer inspection, thoughts of the Range Rover Evoque sprang to mind. But no matter what angle we looked at it from, one thing was clear--this was one good-looking, well-designed crossover.

You might also have noticed that this Vitara is a touch smaller than its predecessor. That's because it's no longer competing in the compact SUV segment. Instead, it's bumped down to the popular and very competitive crossover market. Its main rivals, the Suzuki folks tell us, are the likes of the Nissan Juke and Ford EcoSport. Stiff competition indeed.

What do you guys think of the all-new Vitara? Will it shake up the market? Watch this video to find out our thoughts, and don't forget to grab a copy of our December 2017/January 2018 issue to learn more.
