Surely, some of our dear readers would have remembered the hit TV series, Be Careful With My Heart. It starred Jodi Sta. Maria as Maya and Richard Yap as ‘Sir Chief.’ It spanned two years (2012 to 2014), four seasons, and a whopping 618 episodes.
So, why are we talking about a wildly successful TV show from over a decade ago? Well, this is Top Gear Philippines, so of course we know the car that the protagonists of the series had.

When it came to the cars of the show, it was an E90 BMW 3-Series that took top billing. More specifically, it was a mid-spec 320i finished in Sparkling Graphite Metallic, rode on aftermarket wheels, and had a trunk lip spoiler. Yes, we remember that much.

While browsing Facebook Marketplace (as you do), we stumbled upon an ad for a grey 320i from 2005. The first photo was from a screencap from the show, and then we saw the description. It was, indeed, Sir Chief’s ride. It’s currently for sale at P250,000, which is rather low for an E90 BMW 3-Series.

These days, it no longer wears the aftermarket wheels. However, it still has the spoiler, as well as the retrofitted headlights. The seller was honest enough to list down a few issues the car has, hence the low price. Per the ad, there are errors displayed on the dashboard, namely the anti-lock brakes, seatbelt warning, and transmission. Mind you, the car is drivable even with those warning lights on the dash.

The good bits? The interior and exterior are still looking fresh. The seller also mentioned the suspension is still solid, and it only did about 8,000km per year. As for specs, the 320i used a 2.0-liter engine that made 148hp and 200Nm, about par for the course for any two-liter mill from 2005.
Admittedly, we’re curious if lead actor Richard Yap owned this car personally or if it was supplied to the show. But whether or not it was, it’s a piece of Philippine TV history on wheels.
