An MRT-3 crime scene sets the stage for ‘Trese’ in new official trailer

The supernatural anime series based on a PH comic premieres on Netflix in June

Bigla na lang daw tumigil ang tren sa may bandang tulay ng Guadalupe...” Sounds like another day at the office for the MRT-3, doesn’t it? Well, this quote isn’t from any standard news report from earlier today. It’s actually the first line of the official trailer of Trese.

Trese is an upcoming supernatural anime series based on the acclaimed Filipino comic created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. It’s set in an apocalyptic Metro Manila, riddled by attacks from various paranormal creatures hell-bent on bringing the city down to ashes. So, to be fair, a mere mechanical issue wasn’t the cause of that MRT-3 breakdown that the teaser opened with. Anyway...

The main protagonist, Alexandra Trese, is voiced by Liza Soberano in the Filipino version of the film. Jay Oliva—also known for his work in Wonder Woman and The Legend of Korra—is the executive producer.
