When prices of the newly-introduced Mazda CX-3 first came out, many were surprised that the subcompact crossover was going for such a premium. Put simply, it wasn't cheap and people demanded to know why.

Well, we got our hands on one. And while conditions weren't ideal weather-wise, we think we've come up with a conclusion or two regarding the matter. "We're driving the CX-3 on the worst conditions we've seen on a shoot like this, and the CX-3 takes it all in stride," our writer Niky Tamayo noted in the video. "For those looking for a little fun in their crossover, the CX-3 provides a lot more fun than its competition."

Will the vehicle's performance translate into success here in the Philippines? We'll see soon enough. Want to see more of the Japanese subcompact crossover in action? Press play on the video above. Alternatively, you can also check out our September 2016 anniversary issue, which features the CX-3 on its cover.
