Instagram posts featuring the most maligned—er, most iconic—set of wheels to ever grace Philippine roads have become a rite of passage for visiting stars at this point—obligatory, even. This time, it’s Penn Badgley and Shay Mitchell of the hit psychological thriller You that embraced the tradition.
Of course they did. You didn’t think the two Netflix stars were done after eating halo-halo, did you? An idle jeepney in front of a hotel is just too good an opportunity to pass up. The ’Gram calls for it.
Anyway, just like Steph Curry last year, the pair didn’t really ride the jeepney—and we wouldn’t recommend they do so, anyway, considering Mitchell’s rather cumbersome choice of footwear.
Here’s something for the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to consider: The traffic agency may want to think twice about ridding our streets of these old-school PUVs, lest the number of international celebrities who fly to our country is drastically reduced.
We’re kidding. If it means they’ll be replaced with modernized, environment-friendly PUVs, then by all means, go right ahead.
