Samsung is introducing two new contenders in the budget smartphone segment: the Galaxy A08 and the Galaxy A18.
Both entry-level devices are powered by the Helio G99+ processor, which Samsung says delivers reliable performance for everyday tasks, especially with native support for multiple AI agents, including Gemini and Perplexity. Both phones are also IP64 water- and dust-resistant for peace of mind outdoors.
Samsung Electronics Philippines head of mobile experience Kristine Go said: “With the launch of Galaxy A18 and Galaxy A08, we are making meaningful mobile experiences more accessible by focusing on what users value most—smooth performance, durability, and essential mobile AI experiences.”

The Galaxy A08 also features a large 6,000mAh battery to provide power for a full day of tasks, including video streaming and Internet browsing. It comes spec’d with 4GB of LPDDR5 RAM as standard, paired with either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The RAM Plus feature also allows the phone to draw extra memory from storage space when needed for more demanding tasks.
Samsung also covers the essentials with the Galaxy A08’s camera setup, using an 8MP selfie camera up front and a 50MP main camera plus a 2MP depth camera at the rear. Color options include Dark Blue, Silver, and Green.
The Galaxy A18 upgrades the experience with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display and a triple-camera setup (50MP main shooter, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro). It retains the 4GB of LPDDR5 memory with RAM Plus, as well as the Helio G99+ processor.
For enhanced durability without sacrificing a slim profile, the Galaxy A18’s back cover now uses a “glass-fiber-reinforced polymer.” Samsung says this material provides better protection over the outgoing ‘Glastic’ material previously used in A-Series smartphones. Available color finishes for the A18 include Black, Silver, and Light Blue.
The Samsung Galaxy A08 is available now at authorized dealers as well as Samsung’s official online store, while the Samsung Galaxy A18 will be arriving in the Philippines in December. Prices for different specs of the Galaxy A08 are as follows:
