A bespoke tuxedo. A Walther PPK. An Aston Martin. These are just a few of the essential accessories of everyone’s favorite secret agent, James Bond. But 007 is also known to always brandish one essential tool during his missions: a reliable, but stylish watch. And while his usual Swiss luxury pieces are a stretch for the budgets of most people, one watchmaker has just released some affordable alternatives.
Swatch recently announced these limited-edition pieces which pay homage to the Bond franchise. The first is a tie-up with the upcoming release of No Time to Die later this year. This watch features a sizeable 42mm stainless-steel case affixed to a brown checkered strap. It has a skeleton dial to showcase the watch’s inner workings, and runs on a quartz movement. It was designed in collaboration with the film’s costume designer Suttirat Anne Larlarb and retails for P11,500.
The next six pieces are part of the Swatch X 007 Tribute Collection, and are homages to some of the most iconic Bond films of all time with each actor represented. The six films the collection pays tribute to are: Dr. No, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Moonraker, Licence to Kill, The World Is Not Enough, and Casino Royale. Each piece has something unique to reflect the movie’s visual look and story. The World Is Not Enough watch pictured above, for example, reflects the movie’s poster and legendary gun-barrel opening sequence.
You can check out the tribute watches in the posts below. As for the prices: the Casino Royale and Licence to Kill watches sell for P5,000 each, while the other four are priced at P5,500.
