TAG Heuer’s deep Formula 1 collection just keeps growing bigger and bigger, so it seems, as the brand just released its newest addition to this lineup.
This new timepiece is a tad bit more special than the others, though, as it was created in collaboration with Japanese streetwear icon Hiroshi Fujiwara. This is the new TAG Heuer x Fragment Design Heuer 02, and as we said, it’s extra special—only 500 pieces of this limited edition watch will be produced.
The piece is a modern reinterpretation of the Swiss watchmaker’s vintage C-Case models from the ’60s and ’70s. It pays homage to TAG Heuer’s deep motorsports heritage and at the same time reflects Fujiwara’s prowess in chronograph design.
It features a 44mm fine-brushed and polished stainless steel case with a ceramic and steel bezel. Highlighting the clean and elegant design is the blacked-out dial with white hands and markers mixed in with a few bits of red accents. Also engraved in this same dial is the Fragment Design logo above the TAG Heuer shield.
This automatic chronograph also sports a new five-row steel bracelet design with a butterfly folding clasp. The steel case back, on the other hand, is built with a circular red sapphire crystal window in the center, through which you can peek at the mechanism that utilizes the Caliber Heuer 02 movement.
In addition, the watch boasts a power reserve of up to 80 hours and a water resistance of up to 100 meters. This entire package will set you back $6,150, or well over P300,000 in local currency.
What do you think of this new special edition timepiece from TAG Heuer? Reckon this design is worthy of its price tag?
