18 Images: A look at the new Honda HR-V RS

Featuring some sporty additions

So it looks like the HR-V is following in the footsteps of the rest of the Japanese carmaker's lineup. Honda Cars Philippines has just unveiled the refreshed version of its subcompact crossover, and along with it a new RS variant, just like the Jazz and Mobilio before it.

As with Honda's hatchback and seven-seater MPV, the HR-V's RS treatment is purely aesthetic.  From afar you'll notice that the HR-V RS flaunts an attractive new Phoenix Orange paint finish that sets it apart from standard offerings. There's also a more seamless continuity between the new grille and headlamp designs, as well as a new bumper, chin spoiler, overfenders, an improved honeycomb grille, and a red 'RS' badge at the rear. Overall, it's the same sporty look we've come to expect from RS releases in recent years.

Inside, the changes are a little more subtle. There's more Piano Black trim around the controls and center console, and the crossover now comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system courtesy of Kenwood. And thanks to Apple CarPlay, iPhone owners can finally use Waze on the car's head unit in the future.

Basically, what you're getting with the HR-V RS is a more energetic-looking exterior and a slightly more premium interior vibe. Do you think these enhancements are enough to make the crossover deserving of its RS badge? Check out the rest of the photos below and let us know in the comments.
