Chinese automakers and bike manufacturers have had a knack for, well, copying designs from their bigger Japanese and European competitors. Off the tops of our heads, we could already think of the Land Rover and Toyota Hiace ripoffs. Oftentimes they can get away with it, so they just go ahead and do it anyway.
The latest addition to the growing list of replicas is this: the PFMoto Starship 3. What is it? A slightly smaller copy of the Honda Gold Wing.

Look at the China bike’s silhouette—the resemblance to the Gold Wing’s is uncanny. The windshields, the shapes of the front fairings, and even just the way the exhausts are placed directly under the panniers (or the other way around, we’re not really sure).

According to the brochure—or at least that’s what we think is written—the Starship 3 measures 2,380mm long, 990mm wide, and 1,275mm tall with a 1,560mm wheelbase. It comes in Electromagnetic White, Interstellar Grey, and Quantum Black. Apt names for those colorways considering it’s the Starship 3 we’re talking about.
The Gold Wing, meanwhile, stands 2,614mm long, 905mm wide, and 1,432mm tall and has a 1,698mm wheelbase. Still significantly bigger than its Chinese counterpart. Close, but not quite.
The gap gets even wider when it comes to the powertrain, as the PFMoto only has a 300cc V-twin underneath all that. Not small by any means, but it looks measly when compared to Honda’s gargantuan 1,833cc flat-six engine powering its equally massive tourer.
We won’t even bother translating the entire brochure, because frankly, we’re not that interested anyway. But tell us, readers—if the PFMoto Starship 3 were available in our market with a reasonable price tag, would you consider buying one?
