Ivana Alawi may have just won Prank of the Year, at least in our opinion.
The Filipina-Moroccan actress recently uploaded a video on her YouTube channel in which she surprised some food-delivery riders by giving eight of them a motorcycle helmet and P10,000 in cash each.
“Umo-order kasi ako kahapon, tapos may napanood akong video tungkol sa isang nagde-deliver ng mga pagkain, eh naloko siya,” Alawi recalled. “Parang umiiyak siya, tapos yun nga, may baby pa kasi siya. Na-scam siya, in short. So na-sad ako dun.
“Palagi kasi akong umo-order ng mga pagkain sa mga delivery. Tapos kahit noong pandemic, sila talaga yung bumabiyahe. I think it’s time to give back.”
The video already has more than four million views and 542,000 likes as of this writing. After celebrating her 10-million YouTube subscribers milestone last month, Alawi is close to hitting the 11-million mark.
She added, “Yung reason talaga kung bakit ko to ginagawa is because marami akong nakikita na mga scammer na mga tao na akala nila nakakatawa na pag-tripan nila ang mga driver na nagpapakahirap magtrabaho.
“Maraming way na maglokohan kayo o something, pero wag mong pag-tripan ang isang tao na nagtatrabaho nang marangal.”
