More than a month after he bagged a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, ace boxer Carlo Paalam finally receives his dream bike as an incentive from Motortrade Nationwide Corporation.
Paalam personally attended the ceremonial turnover of the brand-new Yamaha YZF-R6. The event was held at Motortrade Yamaha RevZone in Naga City yesterday. The sportbike for the Pinoy Olympian was a joint undertaking by Motortrade and Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH).
Prior to competing in Tokyo, Paalam shared on Instagram a photo of a black R6 with the caption: “Maging akin ka man din.”
This inspired Motortrade and YMPH to grant his wish. The popular street-legal sportbike is powered by a 599cc DOHC in-line four engine capable of 116.7hp at 14,500rpm and 61.7Nm of torque at 10,500rpm. Yamaha was lucky enough to secure an R6 in Matte Black Raven—the last available unit in the said color—for the Filipino Olympian.
To make sure that he will have a worry-free ride, Pioneer Insurance also gifted Paalam a five-year comprehensive motorcycle insurance coverage to go with his new big bike.
The silver medalist was deeply grateful for the incentives, and added that such gesture will inspire other Pinoy athletes to aim for victory and bring pride to our country.
