Trimotors Technology Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Bajaj three-wheelers in the Philippines, has launched the 2021 Bajaj RE, which has new safety features and an entertainment package.
Trimotors vice president and chief operating officer Raul Jay R. Manglapus III led the online launch of the new model. More than 90 media personalities, entrepreneurs, and government officials tuned in to the virtual event.
The latest Bajaj product, Manglapus said, is proof of Filipinos’ ingenuity and resiliency amid the pandemic, as it represents an innovative solution to promote entrepreneurship in the country.
“The Filipinos have a way to adapt. We have new entrepreneurs who ferry passengers with our three-wheelers,” he said. “It is a new sector that is emerging and it is definitely a good development.” Manglapus is confident that the new RE will lure more business-minded Pinoys to try out the product.
Topping the list of the RE’s new features is the redesigned dashboard, which now has an MP3 player (does anyone still have MP3s?). Bajaj has also fitted this sturdy vehicle with a metal door in the rear for added safety. The seats have been reconfigured for better driver ergonomics and comfort, too.
If you have driven a Bajaj RE before, you will probably be surprised by this version’s smoother and quieter 198.88cc fuel-injected four-stroke single-cylinder engine. A new silencer assembly is mounted on the engine crankcase with an enhanced timing chain.
In the same online event, Trimotors also launched the ‘Bagong Biyahe’ campaign in a bid to convince more Filipinos to use the RE as an alternative mode of transport during this time.
The 2021 Bajaj RE is priced at P182,888, and is available in yellow, blue, red, white, and green.
