The Yamaha NMax holds a special place in the hearts of Filipino riders as an all-around scooter. This updated NMax 125, thankfully, lives up to that billing.
The latest iteration of the Japanese manufacturer’s entry-level model is fitted with a Euro 5-compliant 125cc SOHC liquid-cooled engine that delivers 12.2hp at 8,000rpm and 11.2Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

The unit uses Yamaha’s signature Blue Core technology. According to the official website, “Blue Core engines are our answer to what an eco-friendly Yamaha engine should be, and they are products of Yamaha ‘Sports DNA’ and over 60 years of our unwavering Yamaha Monozukuri spirit of craftsmanship.”
The 2021 NMax 125 sports a dynamic look, highlighted by a twin-eye-style LED headlight, sleek LED taillights, and an aerodynamic protective fairing. The all-new chassis is built with better maneuverability and ergonomics in mind. Under the contoured dual seat sits a generously sized storage compartment.

The scooter debuts the company’s Simple Communication Control Unit, which provides technical information via the MyRide app. On-board features include traction control, a start-stop system for better fuel economy, and a smart keyless system. Stopping power, meanwhile, is provided by 230mm front and 202mm rear disc brakes equipped with ABS.
The 2021 Yamaha NMax 125 is available in Anodized Red, Phantom Blue, and Powder Gray.
