After a six-month delay, a Yamaha dealership in Mindanao has announced that it is now accepting reservations for the 2021 Tenere 700. This midsize adventure bike has gained positive reviews for being a lean, lightweight, and strategically priced off-road machine.
The Tenere 700 is powered by a 689cc parallell-twin CP2 engine derived from the award-winning MT-07 naked streetfighter. This mill is mated to a six-speed manual transmission that shifts gears using a heavy-duty, cable-actuated clutch system.
Suspension duties are taken care of by a pair of Kayaba fully adjustable USD forks front and rear with 8.3 inches and 7.9 inches of travel, respectively. Designed to withstand the rigors of tackling rugged roads, the Tenere 700 rolls on 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires.
Stopping power comes from a pair of wave-style 282mm front discs, while rear braking is handled by a 245mm rotor. Both are fitted with switchable ABS.
This adventure bike boasts 9.5 inches of ground clearance and a 34.4-inch seat height. Tipping the scales at 205kg, it is considered one of the lightest in the adventure-bike category.
The Tenere 700 will retail for P619,000. Interested buyers can place a minimum reservation fee of P10,000, with units set to arrive before the end of this month.
