The 450cc segment has been growing as of late, with heavy hitters such as the CFMoto 450MT and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 entering the fray (and with a few other important models rumored to be on the way). Soon enough, BMW Motorrad will be shaking things up, as it has now unveiled a new lightweight GS concept at the ongoing Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA).

Say hello to the new BMW Concept F450 GS. It boasts a small two-cylinder engine that pushes out 48hp. It’s supposedly listed at 175kg, making it significantly lighter than even the enduro-focused F900 GS.

It also looks the part of a GS, with the new signature headlamp up front and familiar fairings on the sides. This bike also takes after its bigger siblings in terms of tech, coming equipped with ABS Pro and various ride modes. It also gets a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, as with the other GS models in the lineup.

BMW Motorrad says this will be a very sporty and dynamic bike that, while being very lightweight, will make no compromises in terms of performance. It expects to make a few tweaks before the production model is unveiled, though, such as lowering the seat height for better accessibility and easier handling and offering other options apart from the standard spoked wheels.

Exciting stuff ahead for BMW Motorrad right here. The brand could reveal the final production version in 2025, so let’s all keep an eye out. For now, tell us—what do you think of this new lightweight offering from the German marque?
