BMW Motorrad blew the lightweight adventure-bike segment wide open with the launch of the F450 GS. I eventually got to ride it on local roads, and it didn’t feel like a cheap copy of the German brand’s famed ADV—it felt like a proper GS.
Nearly a year after it pulled the wraps off the baby GS, it appears the motorcycle manufacturer is now ready to debut its latest ‘entry-level’ offering, and it’s in the form of a naked bike. See that photo above? Yes, that one.
There’s no confirmation yet, but it looks like the bike in the shadows will be the F450 R, the miniature version of the black motorcycle in the photo directly above this paragraph. I was also able to review that one, so if the smaller naked will be anything like the original, then there’s a lot to look forward to.

Besides, there’s good reason to get excited. I enjoyed my time with the F450 GS, so I’m expecting more of the same here. If this is, in fact, the F450 R, then it should pack the same
420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin and output the same 48hp and 43Nm.
Anyway, we still have no confirmation yet, so all of these are just speculations for now. All we know is that it’s a roadster that’s on its way, and it’ll be fully unveiled on October 1. At least we won’t have to wait long, no?
