CFMoto has continued making waves in the motorcycle industry over the past years. It’s gone from building solid, value-for-money bikes to developing high-performance machines, and now it’s seeing results in motorsports. Surely, the goal for the brand right now is to enter and succeed in MotoGP.
To get into MotoGP, CFMoto will need a proper V4 engine, and it’s no secret that it’s been working on just that. In fact, the motorcycle manufacturer has just revealed important developments regarding this new powertrain: Its test mule using the new V4 mill has just recorded a top speed of 315.82kph.

To give you a context on just how impressive that is, that speed puts it right around the territory of European superbikes. For eve more context, the all-time MotoGP speed record is 368.6kph—a prototype even coming close to that is an achievement in and of itself.

For good measure, CFMoto itself compared the V4 SR-RR to the Ducati Panigale V4 and Aprilia RSV4 Factory to show how mighty impressive its recent feat is. CFMoto’s prototype has a 997cc V4, puts out 212hp, and just did the listed 315.82kph. The Ducati packs a 1,103cc V4, generates 216hp, and has a listed top speed (although electronically limited) of about 299kph. The Aprilia, meanwhile, has a 1,099cc V4 capable of 220hp and 305kph. The Chinese manufacturer really wants to drive this point home. Point taken.

CFMoto said that its top-speed run with its concept bike was verified via GPS, and it has photos and footage to show for. Take note, of course, that this isn’t the final production model yet.
We also don’t have a timeline on when the brand will fully launch the V4 SR-RR, but all we know is that the motorcycle world has taken notice and will be keeping a close eye on that. This prototype was just unveiled at the last EICMA, after all. That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if we see important developments real soon, so watch this space.
