With the increasing number of cases of coronavirus victims in Metro Manila, more motoring-related events are either being postponed to later dates, or canceled as a preventive measure against the possible spread of the dreaded virus.
The latest casualty is the 14th Inside Racing Bike Festival and Trade Show, considered the country’s biggest motorcycle event.
“Despite our best efforts to implement health and safety measures in our upcoming event this March 27-29, 2020 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, due to the increasing number of people infected with COVID-19 and the DOH declaring Code Red and the government declaring a State of Public Health Emergency, we will reschedule the 14th Inside Racing Bike Fest to a later date on July 17-19, 2020,” the organizers said in their official Facebook page.
“We don’t want to risk the safety of everybody, given that our event has massive attendees both from our exhibitors and the spectators. With our goal to give you the best Inside Racing Bike Fest experience every year, your health and safety remain to be our top priority,” they added.
This announcement came a week after Moto Sapiens reported the pullout of four major motorcycle companies—Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM and BMW—from this year’s show due to the coronavirus scare, among other reasons.
Well, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. We are also hoping that the coronavirus spread will be contained by July 2020. Until then, it’s better to stay sanitized and avoid being in crowded areas.
