It’s been a banging year at the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) so far, with the world’s biggest carmakers launching new models left and right. Ducati—which happens to be one of that country’s biggest manufacturers—has hosted a spectacle of its own.
The Borgo Panigale-bred brand has unveiled the all-new Hypermotard V2. Interestingly, some 20 years ago, at EICMA in 2005, Ducati first unveiled the Hypermotard to the world as the 1100 prototype—that bike got ‘Best in Show’ that year. Anyway...

The all-new Hypermotard V2 still has that signature Ducati supermotard silhouette, with the unmistakable beak up front. The headlights now look more modern, while the fairings still follow the shape of that of the previous-generation model, only slightly tweaked. The trellis frame is still exposed, and there’s still a floating taillight out back. It comes in Ducati Red, with a special livery available on the SP version.

Speaking of versions, there are two for the Hypermotard V2—the standard and the SP. Both are powered by the same 890cc V-twin that puts out 120.4hp at 10,750rpm and 94Nm of torque at 8,250rpm. Based on the chart Ducati shared, torque is pretty much there whether you’re revving at 3,000rpm or at 11,000rpm. It’s a long powerband.
Different ride modes and the Ducati Quick Shifter 2.0 are available, as well as four-level ABS. Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducati Power Launch, and Engine Brake Control, among many others, are also equipped in the Hypermotard V2.
Quite the bike, no? The only question now is this: When’s it coming to the Philippines?
