Honda Philippines made waves today, September 21, 2019, by unleashing their latest game-changer: the ADV 150. Not to be confused with the X-ADV, Honda’s adventure-ready maxi-scooter, the ADV 150 is a more street-focused effort that has caused quite a buzz in the Philippines in the weeks leading to its release. Also worth noting is that ours is the first market outside of Indonesia's that will receive the ADV 150. If that isn't a sign of a growing scooter market, we don't know what is.
As the name suggests, the ADV 150, like its bigger 750cc brother, is an adventure-style automatic scooter blessed with Honda’s modern electronic accouterments, this time powered by a 149.3cc SOHC four-stroke, a single-cylinder engine capable of 14.34hp and 13.8Nm of torque.
First spotted at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, the ADV 150 has built a reputation around itself as the usurper to the throne occupied by another Japanese manufacturer’s premium 150cc-class scooter. This reputation, combined with public demand, has forced Honda to bring the undeniably gorgeous automatic ADV 150 into our market.
Many questions about the scooter have been asked in recent weeks, like: How does it handle? How does it compare to scooter X? What is its top speed? But the most burning question is this one: How much does it cost?
The Honda ADV 150 is priced at P149,000. Expect to see it in Honda showrooms and major motorcycle dealerships this January.
