Haven’t you heard? It isn’t exclusively just four-wheelers for Honda at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) this year. Alongside the limited-edition CR-V and the new Civic e:HEV from Honda Cars Philippines, the new *inhale* Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP from Honda Philippines (HPI) also took center stage.

This menacing motorcycle—one of Honda’s most powerful two-wheelers to date—lands in our market packing even more MotoGP-derived tech than ever. Design-wise, it’s unchanged, with the same red finish with the white and blue accents to complete that true Honda Racing Corporation colorway.

The majority of the updates are in the tech department. The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP now comes with a lightweight Akrapovic muffler, Brembo Stylema R radial-mount four-piston calipers, and a slightly bigger fuel tank. All gear ratios have also been shortened for improved acceleration, and the nine-level Honda Selectable Torque Control has been optimized accordingly.

Honda has also revised the aluminum frame with a new rigidity balance to further improve steering accuracy and grip feel. The 1,000cc in-line-four screamer powering the bike has also been retained, but Honda slightly raised the compression ratio and made the inlet valves lighter. It produces 215hp at 14,500rpm and 113Nm at 12,500rpm.

The Fireblade SP’s price tag is as eye-watering as its performance numbers. This costs P1.699 million. What do you think, folks?
