The Kia EV9 made quite the impression when it made its world debut back in 2023. Since then, it has raked in accolades from several automotive award bodies, winning 2024 World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle of the Year. Now, it has landed in the Philippines.
With the arrival of the EV9, there are now two Kia electric vehicles sold officially in the country. The first one was the EV6 that was introduced in 2023. Given the South Korean automaker’s EV push, the addition of the EV9 in GT-Line trim could be the first of many down the line.

Its boxy exterior design is what Kia calls the ‘Opposites United’ philosophy. The geometric look further emphasizes this crossover’s size. The tale of the tape reveals it’s over five meters long, nearly two meters wide, and close to 1.8 meters tall. Despite the blocky shape, Kia claims a drag coefficient figure of just .28.
Common in most EVs these days, the Kia EV9 adapts a minimalist interior theme. The expansive floating dashboard is home to a pair of 12.3-inch screens that serve as the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Sandwiched between those is a 5.0-inch display that serves as the climate control panel.
The Philippine-spec EV9 comes with three rows and captain’s chairs. Of course, there’s no shortage of drink holders and USB ports.
Powering the local-spec EV9 is an electric motor with 379hp and 700Nm. As for pricing, the Kia EV9 GT-Line comes in at P5,888,000.
