In case you didn’t know, two motor shows are happening simultaneously this week. But before anyone could pull the covers off a car at the Philippine International Motor Show, here comes VinFast at the 2024 Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) with the official launch of the VinFast VF7.
The fully-electric compact crossover arrives just over a month after the VF3 made its local debut. Like the rest of its stablemates, the VF7—which comes in two variants—may be purchased with the battery included or with a battery subscription. The final prices are a touch lower than what we were given a few months ago when the model was previewed:

Where the VF3 looks cute and playful, the VF7 wears much more mature-looking sheetmetal over its compact frame. It was penned by Italian company Torino Design, which has given the vehicle some rather recognizable cues. The V-shaped lighting signatures front and rear are unmistakably VinFast, and the profile is also distinct with the way the greenhouse appears to funnel through the rearmost pillars to separate the roof and the rear quarter panels.

The two variants of the VF7 come with different powertrains. The Base is propelled by a single electric motor that draws power from a 59.6kWh battery. The key figures you’ll be wanting to hear are 174hp, 250Nm, and a claimed 430km per full charge. Meanwhile, the Plus gets a dual-motor setup for a combined output of 349hp and 500Nm of torque, plus a range of up to 496km courtesy of a 75.3kWh battery.
The advanced driver-assist system (ADAS) is standard only in the Plus spec, adding adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, door-opening alert, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera to the Base’s stability and traction control and anti-roll control.

Interested customers can now place a P5,000 deposit for the VF7 via VinFast’s official website or authorized dealerships. Reservations made before November 24 are eligible for discounts of up to P53,000, plus gifts worth up to P57,000.
In addition to a 10-year/200,000km vehicle warranty, the VF7 also comes with a 10-year unlimited-mileage battery warranty when purchased with a battery. Units under a battery subscription get free battery maintenance and replacement if the capacity falls below 70%.
