Over the weekend, we wrote about the closure of the KTM BGC, the flagship dealer of Adventure Cycle Philippines (ACPI), the motorcycle arm of Ayala’s ACMobility. We can now confirm that after eight years, it’s not just the one dealership: KTM and Husqvarna will have an entirely new distributor.

KTM Philippines announced in a Facebook post that KTM AG, the parent company of the brand, had awarded the distributorship of both KTM and Husqvarna to Lucky MAPI, a member of the Motor Ace Philippines group. The group has multiple motorcycle brands in dealerships across the country.

ACPI will cease its operations as distributor on September 30, 2024, with Lucky MAPI handling the marketing, sales, after-sales, and other operational activities for KTM and Husqvarna starting immediately after, beginning October 1, 2024.

Thankfully, there is some silver lining as we transition from the ACPI era to Lucky MAPI: KTM Philippines (still under ACPI) noted in a comment on the aforementioned post that KTM and Husqvarna bikes will still be made at the KTM Asia Motorcycle Manufacturing (KAMMI) plant in Laguna. This means that while the distributorship is changing hands, production will still continue, at least for the time being.

With the two brands providing some of the most exciting and more affordable options out of Europe, we hope Filipinos will still have the option to buy KTM and Husqvarna bikes in the Philippines at competitive prices.

There will be more information in the coming days, so stay tuned for official announcements from Lucky MAPI.
