There’s been a lot of buzz around this one, and now the wait is finally over: Ladies and gentlemen, behold, the new seven-seater Mitsubishi DST Concept.
It does look like an XForce as we expected, with the futuristic T-shaped headlamps and the new Dynamic Shield design up front. But it differentiates itself from the crossover as the mesh grille looks a bit wider, making for a much bigger-looking front fascia.

Looking at it from the sides, it’s a lot bigger than Mitsubishi’s subcompact crossover. It appears much closer to a Montero Sport than a seven-seater XForce. Unfortunately...no mentions of the Adventure nameplate were used during the presentation, so our guess about this being the Adventure revival was wrong. What we did get real close, though, was our recent render.
Anyway, this could very well end up being the next-generation Montero Sport as everyone had hoped it would be, or it could end up being an entirely different model altogether. Heck, we shouldn’t even be closing our doors on this becoming a modern-day Adventure, because right now, it’s still just a concept. Anything can happen—even Mitsubishi binning it completely is also a possibility.
All that being said, it}s still exciting to see what the future will look like for Mitsubishi’s SUVs. If the designs of the XForce and this DST Concept are anything to go by, then we can be almost sure that the Japanese carmaker’s upcoming vehicles will look very, very good.
