Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) started October with teasers for its upcoming three-row SUV concept. Is it the next Montero Sport mid-size PPV, or is it the small seven-seater sibling of the all-new XForce? And will it actually bear the famed Adventure badge?

Judging from its proportions, it’s most likely a small Xpander-sized unibody three-row SUV. While the Japanese carmaker already has the Xpander Cross crossover MPV, this new model looks more like an SUV than an MPV with rugged cladding tacked on. For this render, we imagine what the production version of this three-row SUV concept could look like.

We know that the three-row SUV concept will sport a longer, more wagon-like body than the XForce. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has the same wheelbase as the Xpander. The three-row SUV concept features the same design language as the XForce with a dash of Triton and Montero Sport mixed in.

Up front, it gets the more familiar Dynamic Shield face with a taller boxier grille instead of the trapezoidal ones you see on the XForce. Moving to the sides, it appears to have the more prominent fender flares of the Montero Sport, again something to make it look more muscular and rugged.

While we still haven’t seen the rear, we do know it will have a variation of the XForce’s rear end. For our production version render, I placed the license plate on the liftgate like on other Mitsubishi three-row SUVs like the Montero Sport and Outlander. It will most likely have blacked out pillars all around for that floating roof design many manufacturers are going for nowadays.

Official specs haven’t been revealed, but if it is indeed riding on the same subcompact platform as the XForce and Xpander, expect it to be powered by Mitsubishi’s familiar 104hp 1.5-liter 4A91 gasoline MIVEC mill. Another potential engine option is the Xpander HEV’s hybrid powerplant which consists of a 1.6-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline unit and an electric motor, its total system output is 114hp and 255Nm of torque. It will most likely retain the XForce and Xpander’s independent MacPherson strut suspension up front and a compact torsion beam setup at the rear, the latter helps free up space at the rear for the SUV’s third row seats.

We don’t know how close these renderings will be to the actual production model, but would you consider it if it looked like this? Let us know in the comments.
