It’s Mitsubishi’s turn to give us a teaser of what we can expect at the upcoming 2024 Philippine International Motor Show. This year’s edition is a very special one for Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, as it’s the first time the local division will hold a world premiere.
So, what will Mitsubishi debut at PIMS 2024? It’s a concept for a seven-seater SUV, and that’s all the MMPC is saying for now. That got us thinking, what could it be?

As mentioned, the company hasn’t divulged much yet. They did say that it embodies ‘Mitsubishi Motors-ness,’ but that made our heads scratch even more. It’s unknown if it’s a midsize or compact SUV, and it’s also a mystery if it will be car or pickup-based.
At the top of our heads, we reckon it could be one of two possibilities. The first could be a model based on the XForce, but expanded to accommodate an extra row of seats. The teaser photo shows a few elements from the subcompact crossover, while the rear end does appear to have an XForce-like shape.

The other could be the concept for the next-generation Montero Sport. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a reach given that the current model was just given a facelift. Then again, Mitsubishi did say that the production model will be revealed sometime in 2025.
One final clue is this: “The new SUV concept brings together the brand’s heritage of craftsmanship and its commitment to developing vehicles that meet the unique demands of the market.” Does this mean it will be a special model for Southeast Asia? The only way we’ll know is on the day of the motor show itself.
Until then, make your best predictions.
