Not content with launching a flurry of models during the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, MG previewed another one here at the Philippine International Motor Show. This time around, it’s an all-new crossover
That model is the 2025 MG HS PHEV, and it could possibly make a dent in the compact crossover class.

It’s a bit of a surprise to see the redesigned MG HS make its way to the Philippines already. It wasn’t that long ago when it made its world premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed back in July. It seems that the automaker is keen on taking away sales from compact-crossover segment stalwarts such as the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4 as soon as possible.
The new HS is larger than before. It measures 4,635mm long, 1,890mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. It’s a far sleeker-looking thing over its predecessor, too, with its upswept headlights, angular design, coupe-like profile, and slim full-width taillights.
Inside, the HS boasts a wide-screen panel that houses two displays. These measure 12.3 inches each and house the instrument cluster and infotainment system. An electromechanical gear selector replaces the traditional mechanical unit, while the larger body means more room inside.

The plug-in hybrid comes with a 140hp 1.5-liter engine and a 207hp electric motor with its electric-only range listed at 120km.
No word yet on price, but MG is slated to officially release the hybrid sometime in 2025.
