Triumph officially killed production of the Thruxton at the end of 2024, bidding farewell to its popular cafe racer after 60 years with a final-edition model. But it appears the British motorcycle brand was only saying goodbye to Thruxton’s current iteration—not the nameplate entirely.
See, reports have been coming out from all over—through websites such as BikeWale—that Triumph is supposedly testing a 400cc version of the Thruxton. Spy shots that we won’t share here have been circulating cyberspace, and who knows, this might just be it.
Besides, the bike has been spotted multiple times on the road, not just once. So the reports might really be onto something.

If you may also recall, the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X both hail from India and were produced with Bajaj engines, so this isn’t farfetched at all. Triumph may be building on its volume play, especially in our region where it’s starting to swap out its bigger offerings for smaller but more affordable two-wheelers that are ultimately easier to sell. While some Triumph fans and enthusiasts may have something to say about that, at the end of the day, it might be what works best for the brand.
If this ends up being true, then expect the smaller Thruxton to get the same 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that puts out 39.5hp and 37.5Nm of torque. We can also probably expect this model to arrive here in the Philippines eventually like its 400cc siblings did. Needless to say, it’ll likely be priced competitively as well, so that’s another thing to be excited about. We’ll keep you guys posted, but for now, what do you think of this rumored 400cc Thruxton?
