If you like cars and you follow Top Gear Philippines, then I’ll take a good guess that you know what went down last weekend: The Tokyo Auto Salon 2025. It’s the ultimate destination in the region—and one of the biggest in the world—for all car enthusiasts. Especially if you love JDM.
My teammate Charles and I found ourselves lucky enough to have been able to join the festivities at Makuhari Messe on the first day of TAS 2025, and we have a bunch of photos to show for it.
In a nutshell, it was downright overwhelming. The amount of custom cars, aftermarket parts, merch, and toys all around was a bit too much to handle as first-timers. I’ll put out a first-timer’s guide from my point-of-view soon so watch this space, but for now, we’ll be sharing some of the nicest finds at this year’s show.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 recap:
Some of our favorites include the Honda Beat-turned NSX, the slammed Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (don’t come after us with pitchforks, please), and the custom Hiaces and Suzuki Jimnys. There were also a bunch of AE86 Levins and Truenos on display at the show.
Also worth noting is the sheer amount of Mazda RX-7s and Nissan GT-Rs (R32, R33, and R34 generations) at TAS. We have quite a few of those in the Philippines, but it was a different story at the show.
Of course, our favorite Japanese tuners and aftermarket brands were also present, including Rays, Modellista, Varis, JAOS, and Varis, to name a few. Shops like Autobacs and Up Garage also had booths of their own. We may have missed a few installations here and there, but rest assured, we tried our best to cover the entirety of Makuhari Messe.
In any case, we’ll just let the pictures do the talking. You can scroll further below to see more of our photos. You can also click play on our video above to see the full recap. Lastly, don’t forget to stay tuned to our website and social media channels over the next week or so to see more of what we did in Japan this past TAS weekend.
