The all-new Yamaha Aerox E has been launched for the Indian market. Designed for urban riding, the fully electric scooter features two removable 1.5kWh batteries and a maximum driving range of 117km.
The Aerox E adopts the sporty design from its gasoline-powered counterpart. It features sharp lines, light blue decals, and large LED headlights. The scooter can run on either one of two battery packs, with a 0% to 100% charging time of three hours and 10 minutes for a single battery and six hours and 20 minutes for a dual-battery setup.

The permanent magnet synchronous motor delivers peak power of 12.6hp and 48Nm of torque. Yamaha didn’t post a 0-60kph time, but that high torque figure should get the bike going from a full stop quickly with little fuss. The scooter has three riding modes—Economy, Standard, and Power—with a Power Boost function for rapid acceleration. Yamaha claims an unladen top speed of 95.5kph.

As for stopping power, the Aerox E has two disc brakes and single-channel ABS. The scooter sits on 14-inch wheels with a 140/70-14 tire on the rear and 110/80-14 on the front. Other features include a traction control system, Bluetooth connectivity via Y-Connect, and a reverse mode.
The Yamaha Aerox E stickers for INR281,600 (around P181,000). As of writing, Yamaha hasn’t revealed plans to sell this fully electric scooter outside of India, but with the popularity of the gasoline-powered Aerox and an increase in EV presence in other markets like the Philippines, maybe the motorcycle manufacturer would consider bringing it here in the future.
