For the past week, we’ve been seeing all sorts of content on social media about Yamaha Motor Philippines’ (YMPH) advertisements, not just in Metro Manila but also in Visayas and Mindanao.
What gives, you might ask? Well, it’s either something’s wrong with how they printed their billboards, or something’s up. Today, however, we noticed something else: the brand’s website is glitching, and an example is the photo you see above.

When you open the YMPH website’s home page, streaks of blue keep buzzing on the screen. It shifts to the color of static on an old television before a pop-up appears. The error message reads: “Press ENTER to restore default settings, or press CTRL + ALT + D to proceed without limits.”

We tried navigating the website further and noticed that it was just the home page that was glitching. After a few more clicks, we finally saw the pop-up we were supposed to see in the first place: a disclaimer that this is all just for marketing purposes only. Our sincerest apologies for missing that the first time.
Now we know that it’s a gimmick, we’re still curious: What could this be? Is YMPH launching an all-new model? We’d like to think so, because there’s no other reason the brand is causing this much stir than to build hype for a new bike. Whatever that is, we’ll have our eyes peeled, and we suggest you do the same. It shouldn’t be long before Yamaha rectifies this supposed glitch to tell us what’s in store.
