Filipino professional golfer Juvic Pagunsan is pursuing perfection on the global stage of his sport, so luxury carmaker Lexus has decided to partner with him for one full year. The 34-year-old Pagunsan, who turned pro in 2006, won the Asian Order of Merit in 2011, a year in which his total winnings amounted to $788,000. His first victory on the Asian tour, however, came in 2007 via the Pertamina Indonesia President Invitational.
According to Lexus Manila: "Like Lexus, Juvic continues to challenge himself to achieve wider and mightier distinctions. Lexus and Juvic will partner to bring the game of golf to a higher level, to bring honor and fame to the country, and to inspire people to aim higher in pursuit of perfection."
As part of the sponsorship deal, Lexus is loaning Pagunsan a new CT200h, which he is to use until the end of the contract in February 2014. (The car in the picture above is a 300C, and is for photo purposes only.) This is, of course, on top of a cash payment.
Here's hoping Juvic wins more international tournaments in the days to come.
