Mini will be showing off the perks of belonging to a luxury automotive group with affiliates that are of equally posh origins when it unveils the limited-edition Mini inspired by Goodwood at Auto Shanghai 2011.
Mini inspired by Goodwood was developed under the guidance of the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars design team, which brings the unmistakable style of the British luxury car manufacturer to the premium small car segment.
As a testament to the collaboration, the dashboard--including the surrounds of the central instrument and the air vents--the centre console, carpet surfaces, the Lounge leather seats, the roof lining, and even the door, side and body pillar cladding use Rolls-Royce's exclusive Cornsilk color.
The dashboard and door handle surfaces are finished in Walnut Burr, a wood quality that's also exclusive to Rolls-Royce. In addition, the black nappa leather dashboard top, tipped leather Cornsilk door linings and the Piano Black surface finishes for the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel and the controls below the central instrument serve as additional quality-enhancing accents.
This limited-edition vehicle also has Cashmere roof linings, sun visors, a rear storage tray and floor mats that boast deep-pile lambswool quality--another standard feature in current Rolls-Royce models.
On the outside, the Mini inspired by Goodwood model is finished in the exclusive Rolls-Royce Diamond Black metallic color hue and rides on 17-inch multi-spoke design light alloy wheels.
Powering this limited-edition vehicle is the same 1.6-liter, inline-four, 184hp, Twin Scroll turbocharged engine found in the standard Mini Cooper S. It has high-quality equipment like Xenon Adaptive Headlights, Park Distance Control, automatic air conditioning, an onboard computer and the audio system Radio Mini Visual Boost which includes the Harman Kardon hi-fi speaker system.
The Mini inspired by Goodwood is being produced with a limited run of just 1,000 units.
