Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) assured customers operations are normal at its Cainta plant despite heavy flooding in the area when typhoon Ondoy hit the metropolis last week.
"We are fortunate that MMPC's facilities were not affected by the deep floods. We, however, regret that this calamity claimed a lot of lives and huge damage to properties in Cainta and nearby towns," Mitsubishi Philippines president and chief executive Masahiko Ueki said.
Dealers and service centers of Mitsubishi Philippines in Metro Manila and nearby provinces in Luzon have been working on vehicles needing flood-related repairs since last week.
"As we anticipate a big number of vehicles to proceed to our service centers, we ask our customer to bear with us given the current capacity of our dealer service facilities. But right now our dealers are taking the initiative to secure additional storage areas just to accommodate these vehicles," said Francisco Zafra, Mitsubishi Philippines' vice president for customer service department.
Zafra added it would be best for clients to first call for an appointment before bringing their vehicles to Mitsubishi Philippines' dealerships and service centers using the following numbers:

While waiting for an appointment schedule, Zafra said vehicle owners may save their flood-damaged vehicle by keeping the engine off and disconnecting the battery.
